GPONDoctor™ Cube is a tool for the diagnosis, certification, and interoperability of PON fiber optic networks that performs non-intrusive dual FTTH GPON/XGSPON traffic capture "all in one" that redefines the way of working in the field. The equipment is sent directly to the capture point and is operated remotely by a qualified technician thanks to its integrated 5G access, without the need for expert personnel to travel. Available in laboratory version and in rugged embedded suitcase version.


How does it work?

GPONDoctor™ Cube is shipped via courier to the location where the problem originated. Upon arrival, a non-specialized operator only makes the fiber connections following the received instructions. GPONDoctor™ Cube can perform cuts in the fiber to synchronize upstream. It can also manage the power supplies of the devices. The qualified technician operates the equipment completely remotely through the integrated 5G connectivity, as if they were physically present. The captured data is automatically transferred via 5G to the cloud or can work with the integrated CPU. And all of this without configuring firewalls or corporate routers, nor asking endless favors from the operator's IT manager.. 

Use cases

Automated tests

Unattended execution of test batteries remotely. Compatible with the OD-247 (BBF) automation suite for GPON and XGSPON without the local presence of a technician.

Remote work

The technician operates the equipment as if he were at the measurement point. He captures, analyzes, and diagnoses from the control center, with minimal latencies thanks to 5G.

Traffic extraction in CO

Traffic capture at the Central Office for real-time analysis of IP services in upstream and downstream without the need to travel to the CO

Remote audits

Team functionalities


Passive and position-independent PON

Frame-by-frame control data inspection without the need to regenerate or modify traffic. It includes an automatic adaptive synchronization system to compensate for the distance to the OLT.

Capture + Test + Evaluation

Based on the captured data, it is able to infer the network topology and apply a series of rules to verify compliance with the ITU-T G. 984.x recommendation.

Complete capture of XGS/GPON traffic

GPONDoctor™ captures GTC and OMCI messages over fiber in real-time, helping to track negotiation processes and configurations between the OLT and the various ONTs in the network.

Real-time IP traffic extraction

GPON Doctor™ extracts decrypted user traffic in real-time from the Ethernet layer that can be used for upper layer testing using external tools.

Remote testing and automatic calibration

Connected to an IP network, it allows testing of a GPON network from a remote management workstation. It includes automatic calibration of the equipment on the network to perform the tests.

Regeneration and evaluation of QoS services

GPONDoctor™ can regenerate established services over a PON network. For example, multicast video, which can be captured, reassembled in real-time, and viewed on the device.

Compatible with Windows 11

Intuitive, easy-to-use app interface based on Windows 11, allowing it to be run on a laptop alongside other office tools and network planning and analysis tools.

100% reliable results

Capture hardware developed by EXXN exclusively for this product. The results are not influenced by proprietary GPON hardware implementations from any provider.

Embedded microprocessor

GPONDoctor CUBE features an embedded i9 microprocessor that provides maximum power for event capture and analysis.

5G enabled

The equipment offers 5G connectivity in locations where the network is available. It also enables 4G and 3G backup connectivity.
