EXXN Engineering has presented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) its latest release: the GPONDoctor CUBE solution, a dual GPON/XGSPON all-in-one solution that redefines the paradigm of fieldwork with this type of instrumentation in fiber optic networks.

GPONDoctor Cube represents a break from the traditional technical deployment model. Under the slogan "Move the equipment, not your team," EXXN Engineering proposes that the instrument itself travels to the capture point—sent by courier—while the qualified technician operates it completely remotely thanks to its integrated 5G access. At the installation point, only an unskilled operator is required to make the fiber connections according to the received instructions, eliminating the need to relocate expert personnel.

High-level technical capabilities

The equipment incorporates remote power management tools in a cube with 26cm sides for up to 4 connected ONTs, allowing for reboots and maintenance operations without physical presence. The GPONDoctor Cube also features up to 4 optical switches for upstream synchronization, error event injection, and access to serial ports of ONTs and Ethernet ports via a USB switch, creating a completely remotely controllable environment as if the technician were present. The captured data is automatically transferred via 5G to the cloud, without the need for manual intervention, configuring connections, firewalls, or corporate routers.
